The Conference Service Committee carries the message of sobriety through service by attracting, educating, and unifying members to be of service, giving back to the S.L.A.A. community what we continue to freely receive.
The CSC meets on the second Sunday of each month at 1:00PM Eastern. Send us a message using the form on this page to request the Zoom login.
Current projects include:
• Creating an inventory of global resources related to service
• Developing a Speakers Bureau of SLAA members who can speak at online and in-person meetings
• Publishing a Ladder of Service–a resource for understanding levels of service and opportunities at each of those levels
It is often said that service keeps us sober, but why does that happen? Giving back through service requires accountability, and that accountability keeps us focused on sober-related activities instead of our old acting out behaviors. Here are some resources that can help you discover different ways you can be of service.
What is Service?
Service in the Fellowship of S.L.A.A. means giving of your time and talents to help with projects in your areas of interest. Read more about this critical aspect of recovery on this page.
What Types of Service Are There?
Contributing our time and talents to one of the many areas of S.L.A.A. service enriches our recovery and helps us stay sober. But what kinds of service are there? This page outlines these opportunities.

“No experience in living was more meaningful for us than letting ourselves become channels through which healing and redeeming grace could flow. The paradox was that our usefulness as channels for healing was a direct result of our experiences in sickness, as well as in recovery.”
